Farmer remains at rez spot (not moving)

Able to rez a farmer but then nothing happens. I have a well, selected a plant type for the two fields and auto water. I have other NPCs able to move around the region without issue. Thoughts on that else I need to do to enable them to start farming? 

If you are using one of the supplied NPC farmers then the most likely reason would be that the rezzer (post) needs to be set to the same group as the parcel.   If you created your own NPC farmer than likely that you didn't wear the "SF NPC Listener (npc must wear)" item.
