For the feeders, the two key entries in the config notecard are:
 
Code:
FOODTOWER=SF Bulk Storage
   and
 
Code:
AUTOFOODITEM=Slop

This defines what food item it will take from which storage.  So in the above example it will try to take SF Slop from the nearest SF Bulk Storage item whenever the food in the feeder gets to 4% or below. 

For water it uses the entries:
 
Code:
WATER_TOWER=SF Water Tower
  and
 
Code:
SF_WATER=SF Water
