THIS EXHIBIT
We have four areas representing Farming, Creating, Exploring and Community which are all based on the free ‘SatyrFarm Quintonia Edition’
Farming – Growing crops, tending animals, running a farm. This was the design of the original SatyrFarm system and is shown in this section. Your farm can be as big or small as you want and there are even NPC Farmers that can help you out! Of course you could have a small holding or an allotment or a back garden… That’s part of the beauty of the system that it is very flexible and adaptable to how you want to use it.
Creating – To help you in the virtual world, there are an ever increasing range of crafting and making tasks you can carry out. Make a vase for the flowers you grow, make a book to read and a cushion to sit on...
Exploring – The range of things you can do is growing all the time. Recently mining has been added so now you can drill for gold, grow some sparkly crystals and even look after your pet rocks!
Community – To help you build a community, big or small, there are items to help you set up a home with working kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and even a garden. At last, setting your ‘home’ position in OpenSim really can mean something!
SATYR FARM QUINTONIA EDITION
The system is very flexible and so you can decide how much work you do or don’t want to do. Some people use the system to help add to a particular theme of their sim without needing to do much work, whilst others use the optional HUD which allows them to farm animals and plants and then make food to keep them ‘healthy’
There is a growing website community on the Quintonia website where people can ask questions, share information and let people know how they getting on. We are also adding different languages to the system (currently as well as English we have French, German, Spanish and Portuguese).
Starting out with the system can seem quite intimidating so starting in August we shall be running workshops covering the basics and then also some more advanced concepts.
We will also be holding developer sharing days so that people who wish to make items for the system can get together and share ideas.
