Thinking about it, I guess the main reason fishing needs you to be near water is to stop you just wearing a fishing rod all the time as you walk around. So I can see having something like a 'fishing post' that you can put anywhere and needs you to be close to in order to fish makes sense. Will look into it...

I've just put an updated fishing system in the shop at Mintor ( worlds.quintonia.net:8002 ) which you can configure to use away from water.

When sitting on the fishing spot after attaching the fishing pole from it, the fishing pole says you must be near water to keep fishing. I am in same group as fishing spot.

Sorry. I was too excited and didn't read the notecard that clearly says to change the water detection to 0.
